In this casual, part-time role you will be responsible for the guarding and care of persons detained at the RCMP Detachment pending hearing, return to parents or transfer to correctional/penal institute. You will complete various types of documentation related to prisoners and ensure the cleanliness of jail cells and the guard room. The incumbent may be exposed to violent or hostile individuals, and may be exposed to unpleasant working conditions and various body fluids in the course of their duties.

As the successful candidate you hold a Grade 12 diploma, along with some experience indicating the ability to effectively guard individuals. You hold a Level 1 First Aid certificate with training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the automated external defibrillator (AED). You have also completed formal training in conflict resolution or dealing with hostile individuals.

As a condition of employment you must be able to obtain and maintain RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status.

These casual positions offer an hourly starting wage of $30.65 per hour, plus 12% in lieu of benefits.

Typically shifts are scheduled for 12 hours from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm or 4 hour split shifts from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm & 10:00 pm to 12:00 am.
