Her spokesperson, Mahendra, confirmed this development to Indianexpress.com, stating, “It is indeed true that Samantha will not be taking up any new projects for a year as she prepares to travel to the US for the treatment of her autoimmune condition, Myositis. If her condition shows faster improvement than expected, she may return within six months. Nevertheless, her planned hiatus is for a full year. Her recovery is progressing positively, and medical advice necessitates her taking a mandatory rest. Samantha will depart for the United States on August 20.”
