Zainab Aliyu has been released to Nigerian mission


The Federal Government has announced that it has secured the release of Zainab Aliyu, the student who was held in Saudi Arabia over drug-related charges.

Zainab Aliyu was arrested at the airport in Saudi Arabia after Tramadol was found in her luggage. However, findings in Nigeria reveal that the young girl was a victim of an Airport cartel which specializes in putting drugs in luggages of unsuspecting travellers.

Five suspects were arrested at the Aminu Kano International Airport few days ago as further investigations continue.

This morning, it was reported that President Buhari ordered that different government agencies should look into Zainab’s case and to secure her release.

Via a tweet, presidential aide Bashir Ahmad revealed that Zainab has now been released.
