Akeera Savadge left an indelible mark on the world as an incredible individual who dedicated her life to advocating for social justice and equality. Her strong leadership inspired many to take action and make a difference, and she was a cherished friend, family member, and mentor to countless individuals.

In memory of Akeera’s life, we celebrate her courage, compassion, and commitment to making the world a better place. She will be remembered for her legacy of hope and resilience, and her impact on future generations will be profound.

Born in Oakwood, Alabama in 1954, Akeera was raised by civil rights activists who instilled in her the importance of justice and equality. After studying political science and law at the University of Alabama, she moved to Washington, D.C. to become a lobbyist for civil rights and social justice causes. Her tireless advocacy brought about meaningful change in the lives of many, and her dedication to empowering young people to become agents of change was truly inspirational.

Despite her untimely passing in 2017 at the age of 63, Akeera’s legacy lives on through the Akeera Savadge Memorial Fund, which provides scholarships to students committed to social justice and civil rights causes. Her memory continues to inspire those who knew her, and her commitment to justice and equality remains a beacon of hope for all.
