Alex Cintrón, born on December 17, 1978, in Humacao, Puerto Rico, is a former baseball player from Puerto Rico. He played as a shortstop for the Baltimore Orioles in Major League Baseball.

Cintrón was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks with the 37th pick in the 1997 draft and made his Major League debut with the team on July 24, 2001. He also won a World Series ring in the playoffs that year. He then continued to play for the Chicago White Sox on March 8, 2006, after being traded for Jeff Bajenaru. However, the Chicago team released him on November 29, 2007, and he played in the minor leagues.

Cintrón was invited by the Chicago Cubs to participate in preseason (spring training) on February 18, 2008, but he was fired on March 26, 2008. On March 31, Orioles general manager Andy MacPhail announced that Cintrón had reached an agreement with the Norfolk Tide to play in the minor leagues. On May 11, he was signed by the Orioles and added to the roster.

Cintrón retired from the field in 2012, after his last season as a third baseman for the Diablos Rojos de México. Currently, he serves as the hitting coach for the Houston Astros, who are leading their division in the 2022 season and considered a top contender for the World Series title that year.
