Weber Shandwick has announced the promotion of Angela Mears to the position of Global Executive Creative Director, which is a newly established role. In her new role, Mears will be reporting to Global Chief Creative Officer Tom Beckman, and will be working closely with clients, strategists, and creative leaders to develop borderless teams and innovative ways of working. She will be leading the account management for major clients such as Airbnb, McDonald’s, and IKEA parent Ingka.
Mills, who has been with the agency for 11 years and was formerly the executive creative director for the US West region, will be succeeded by creative directors Juliet Fox and Louisa Hager. They will be co-leading the creative efforts in three West Coast cities. Weber Shandwick’s recent business report shows a 4.9% increase in global revenue to $872 million in 2021, and a 5% increase in U.S. revenue to $520 million.
