Chris Kruse Obituary – Death: Jan Pigman-Kruse’s husband Murder, Cause Of Death

In the early hours of August 19, 2015, Jan Pigman-Kruse was discovered deceased from gunshot wounds. She is survived by her husband, Christopher Kruse, and their daughter, Bailey Kruse. Chris and Jan met when she graduated from Worthington Community College, and they married on October 7, 1995. Their daughter, Bailey, was born five years later.

Christopher Kruse was identified as the primary suspect in his wife’s murder, after he heard a loud noise and found her shot dead in their Brewster, Minnesota, home. In March 2019, he was charged with first-degree murder. At the trial, which involved 41 witnesses and 12 hours of jury deliberation, two 12-gauge shotgun casings matching Kruse’s shotgun were discovered at the scene. However, on February 13, 2020, he was acquitted of the charge.

NBC’s Dateline aired a two-hour episode in 2020 called “Jane’s Dead,” which featured an interview with Chris Kruse. The episode will be rebroadcast on March 19, 2023, during Dateline Weekend NBC. Following his wife’s death and his acquittal, Kruse moved back to Worthington with his daughter, where he has kept his personal life private. Bailey Kruse graduated from Worthington High School in 2018 and is now attending the University of Minnesota, Rochester. She also participated in the Worthington ice hockey program for 12 years.
