Daniel Thomas Nix, a 23-year-old born on March 15, 2000, in Park Ridge, IL, passed away on March 17, 2023, while vacationing in Mexico. He was a senior at Marquette University, set to graduate in May with a degree in Finance. Daniel graduated from St. Viator High School in 2018 and had an affection for Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where he spent a lot of time on the water – boating and wake surfing. He worked at Gage Marina as a boatman and marina staff member, and enjoyed music and cars. He was known to be the life of the party and cherished spending quality time with his loved ones, often seen singing and dancing.
Those who knew him well will remember him as an adventure-loving, big-hearted person. Daniel is survived by his parents, Christy and Brian Nix, as well as his siblings Megan (Ricky) Minkey, Mary-Kate, Tommy, and Kyle Nix. His grandparents are Nancy (with Bill) Robbie, Tom Nix, and Daniel (Jean) Thompson. Danielle Doty, Taylor, and Kendall are also included in his surviving family members, in addition to many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded by his brother, Johnny Babe, and grandmother, Margaret “Peggy” Nix. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. A prayer will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 12:15 pm from the funeral home, followed by a service at St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL, at 1:00 pm.
