Dequantes Lamar Obituary – Death: Rich Homie Quan Passes Away, Cause Of Death

Rich Homie Quan, whose real name is Dequantes Lamar, is an American rapper known for his commercial success. He was previously signed to TIG Entertainment and Motown Records but has been an independent artist since 2021.

Quan gained recognition with his hit singles “Type of Way” in 2013 and “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” in 2015, which peaked at No. 50 and No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100, respectively. He joined Cash Money Records’ spin-off project Rich Gang in 2014, contributing to hit singles such as “Lifestyle” and the mixtape Rich Gang: Tha Tour Pt. 1 (2014). His debut studio album, Rich as in Spirit, was released in 2018 and reached No. 32 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

Lamar was born on October 4, 1989, in Atlanta, Georgia. He developed a love for literature during his time at Ronald McNair Senior High School, where he also played baseball. He eventually earned a scholarship to Fort Valley State University but turned to rap after losing his job at a nearby airport. This led to involvement in illegal activities and a 15-month prison sentence.

In 2012, Lamar released “Differences” as the first single from his mixtape Still Going In. He toured with Trinidad James in 2013 and appeared on Gucci Mane’s album Trap House III. The New York Times praised Lamar’s use of melody and heart in his music, describing him as part of a new generation of rappers in Atlanta. Rolling Stone named Still Goin’ In (Reloaded) the No. 10 best mixtape of 2013.
