Ethan Cutkosky, American actor and singer Dead or Alive?
Ethan Francis Cutkosky is a well-known American actor and singer recognized for his performances as Carl Gallagher on the Showtime series Shameless and Barto in The Unborn.
Born on August 19, 1999, in Campton Hills, IL, Cutkosky is the only child of Yvonne Cabrera Cutkosky, a teacher, and David Cutkosky, a computer software engineer. His mother is of Mexican descent. Cutkosky attended Bell’s Graham Elementary School and Thompson Middle School, both in Illinois, before going to St. Charles East High School.
Cutkosky began creating photo ads when he was four years old so he could spend more time with his mother. After appearing in a few commercials, he was invited to audition for movies. At the age of seven, he made his film debut as Carl in the Christmas comedy Fred Claus (2007), co-starring Vince Vaughn. Two years later, he played Barto, a mythical spirit, in the supernatural horror film The Unborn (2009), where he starred alongside Gary Oldman.
In 2009, Cutkosky landed the role of Carl Gallagher, the second youngest and most mischievous Gallagher sibling, in the Showtime series Shameless. The show continued for eleven seasons until 2021 and is presently Showtime’s longest-running original series.
