Glenn Coles was a dynamic and change-driven leader who excelled in various aspects of information technology. With a bachelor’s degree in computer science and information technology from the University of California, Irvine, and a degree from the National Institute of Education in Anaheim, California, he had a deep understanding of the industry. Glenn had over three decades of experience in the business world and was a recognized expert in his field.
Glenn’s focus was on driving business transformation through IT, emerging technologies, partnerships, and leadership practices. His contributions and achievements earned him the prestigious Computerworld’s Premier 100 Technology Leaders Award in 2016.
For 16 years, Glenn served as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Yamaha Motor Corporation of North America. His impressive career spanned multiple industries, including automotive, healthcare, technology start-ups, aerospace, manufacturing, and service. Glenn was an active speaker and advisor, serving on several CIO/executive advisory boards, such as the UC Irvine’s CIO Roundtable, the Paul Merage School of Business, and the Center for Digital Transformation.
Glenn lived by his professional motto: “stay relevant and keep innovating.” He resided in Orange County, California, where he was a respected member of the community.
Sadly, Glenn passed away on March 24, 2023. He was a beloved husband of 34 years and an exceptional man. His wife apologizes for being unable to access his LinkedIn account or read messages but welcomes direct contact from anyone who knew Glenn.
