Jiro Dan Obituary – Death: Japanese Actor and Voice Actor Cause Of Death

Kaetekitta solidified the format that Tsuburaya established in MAN and Seven, and Jiro Dan’s portrayal of the main character was a significant contributing factor. His interpretation of Hideki Go made the character distinct and separate from Shin Hayata and Dan Moroboshi.

Jiro Dan was a well-known Japanese actor, singer, and model. He was born in Kyoto and graduated from Heian High School. Before his role in Ultraman Returns, he was a popular cover model for Japanese fashion magazines in the 1960s and also appeared in the 1996 series Godzilla Island as the G-Guard commander.

On March 22, 2023, Jiro passed away from lung cancer at 4:14 am, as announced by his agency, Alpha Agency, on March 24. Despite being diagnosed with the disease as early as 2017, Jiro remained optimistic and continued working until the end.

Jiro played the role of Hideki Go in Ultraman Returns at the age of 22, becoming the youngest actor in the Showa era to portray an Ultra human host. Although he debuted under his real name, Hideo Murata, he is often mistaken for the singer of the same name and now uses the stage name he created when he first debuted on the record. His stage name was originally written in katakana but was later changed to kanji.
