Johanna Schultz, a 20-year-old woman from El Dorado, Fond du Lac County, was found dead after police responded to a shooting report in Omro. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of reckless endangerment of security, but did not release his name. The prosecutor’s office will decide on criminal charges after his court appearance. The incident began with a community check and turned into a death investigation when a suspect fired multiple gunshots in his home while officers from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office were assisting the Omro City Police Department. A SWAT team and negotiating team were called to the scene, and the suspect, a 22-year-old man, was taken into custody after a brief standoff.
