Mick Clarke Obituary – Death: Good Friend & Comrade Big Cause Of Death

It is with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Mick Clarke. He was a dear friend and comrade who staunchly supported TAL Fanzine, Irish republicanism, antifascism, and the Palestinian struggle. Our condolences go out to his loved ones during this difficult time. Mick will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Sadly, we have also lost another dear friend, Gerard Ring, who passed away this week. Geb was one of my oldest friends and the first bass player I worked with. We found him through an ad in the music publication Melody Maker when we were searching for a new bass player for our school blues band. Geb was a skilled musician who played bass on our rendition of “Vietcong Blues” and did an excellent job as Jack Myers. I believe he had a successful career as a parole officer before returning to music and recording the album A&E on the Killing Floor with our mutual friend, Bill. Geb was a wonderful and intelligent person, and although we didn’t always keep in touch, we were always able to pick up where we left off. Rest in peace, Geb.

Currently, I am enjoying making new music at the Fabulous Rockfold Studios in the Surrey heath. I will be releasing a slightly remixed version of “The Blues, Man, the Blues” on Friday, March 24th, to address some drum issues. You can listen to it on my social media channels.
