Phil Tufano FDNY Obituary – Death: FDNY Battalion Chief Cause Of Death

I have recently completed 20 years of service with the New York City Fire Department, my tenure ending on October 24, 2013. I was subsequently promoted to the rank of Battalion Commander on January 2, 2014. Currently, I am serving in Lower Manhattan’s 1st Division/6th Battalion and have expressed my desire to stay on for at least another decade. My plan for the upcoming year is to begin studying for my promotion to VP.

My role as Battalion Commander involves overseeing fire scene surveillance and developing tactical firefighting strategies. In addition to managing the battalion’s operations, I also supervise the conduct of my team, ensuring they perform their duties efficiently and effectively.

As a company commander, I am responsible for on-the-job administrative, disciplinary, and tactical and strategic training of my team. In the absence of the captain, I am entrusted to direct and manage firefighting operations based on their instructions. I am committed to taking on new challenges and expanding my knowledge base to ensure continued success in the fire service.
