Ric De Azevedo Obituary – Death: TV Producer & King Family Singer Who Surprised Tearful Mom During Vietnam-Era Christmas Special Cause Of Death

Ric de Azevedo, a former member of the King Family vocal group and a producer for the early 1980s series Private Benjamin and Enos, passed away on March 14 at the age of 75 due to an undisclosed illness in Fruit Heights, Utah. His death was announced on the King Family’s Facebook page.

The King Cousins, in a statement, expressed their sorrow and appreciation for de Azevedo’s contributions to their family shows. He was remembered for his outstanding performances, including singing and dancing in their Top Twenty segments, his beautiful solos, and his surprise appearance in uniform on the 1967 Christmas with the King Family show, which reduced his mother to tears. de Azevedo also had a successful career behind the scenes as a postproduction executive at Universal Studios and Warner Bros. Television.

The King Family vocal group, which included almost 40 members at one point, was a popular fixture on 1960s television. de Azevedo also performed with the King Cousins and Reunion.

Survivors include his wife Anna, two brothers, two children, and numerous extended family members. In their statement, the King Cousins praised de Azevedo for his accomplishments as an entertainer and as an honorable man off stage. They also expressed gratitude for the love and support shown by their extended community of fans and friends over the years.
