Deadline reported that the assistant director Tom Joyner had died on February 22 at the age of 79, after a long battle with heart disease and cancer. He was a production manager and assistant director who had worked on several notable films, including “Jaws” (1975), “The Blues Brothers” (1980), and “Predator 2” (1990). In 1999, he received the DGA’s Frank Capra Achievement Award in recognition of his professional accomplishments.
