Tristyn Bailey Obituary – Death: Aiden Fucci stabbed 13-year-old, Cause Of Death
Tristyn Bailey, a 13-year-old student and cheerleader for Patriot Oaks Academy, was tragically found dead on May 9, 2021, on Mother’s Day. Her body had been repeatedly stabbed and slashed, and her family reported her missing just hours before her discovery. Aiden Fucci, a then-14-year-old classmate of Bailey’s who lived nearby, was arrested on first-degree murder charges in connection with her death. In February 2023, just before jury selection was set to begin, Fucci changed his plea and now faces a minimum sentence of 40 years to life in prison.
Bailey was one of five children born to Stacy and Forrest Bailey, and she lived in Durbin Crossing in northwest St. John’s County. Although Fucci had no criminal record, his girlfriend and other friends told investigators that he had frequently talked about killing people, including plans to drag a random person into the woods and stab them.
On the night of Bailey’s death, Fucci reportedly asked a friend for her phone number, and he persuaded her to leave her house to meet a friend. Video footage from an apartment building shows two people believed to be Fucci and Bailey walking on Saddlestone Drive near the area where Bailey’s body was later found at the end of the detention pool, east Walk. An hour and 45 minutes later, the same video appears to show Fucci walking back alone in shoes.
According to an unredacted prosecutor’s affidavit, an autopsy found that Bailey had suffered multiple stab and laceration wounds to her head, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, and back, with at least 49 of the wounds being defensive injuries.
