During the ongoing XXXTENTACION murder trial, a fan named Scott Barbieux testified that he took a photo of the late rapper after witnessing him being robbed and murdered at RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Barbieux admitted to being a big fan of XXXTENTACION and said he took the photo as a reminder of the artist. The photo was immediately taken away by investigators, and Barbieux denied receiving any compensation for it.
The trial involves Michael Boatwright, Derry Dedrick Williams, and Trayvon Newsome, who are accused of robbing and killing XXXTENTACION outside RIVA Motorsports. Boatwright is believed to have shot and killed the rapper during the robbery, where $50,000 in a Louis Vuitton bag was stolen. Robert Allen, who was also involved in the shooting, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of second-degree murder and armed robbery last August and is testifying against his co-accused. If convicted, Boatwright, Williams, and Newsome face life in prison.
